Is there a free queue management system?
Short answer: not from us. turnda has a 30-day free trial and then one price of $44 a month per location. Here is why we do not have a free tier, and what “free” tends to mean when you do find it.

There is no permanently free turnda plan. There is a 30-day free trial of the entire product — nothing is held back during it, not analytics, not the reports, not your own branding — and after that it is paid. A queue system sits between your customers and your counter every hour you are open; running one on a tier that nobody is paid to keep up is a risk we are not willing to sell you.

What “free” usually means in queue software
Free tiers in this category are real, and most of them are honest about what they are. It is worth knowing the four shapes they take, because the one that catches people out is not a limit at all — it is a meter.
Free software, metered messages
The most common shape by far. The dashboard costs nothing and every text message to a customer is billed. Your bill then rises with how busy you are, which is exactly backwards: the day you most need it to work is the day it costs the most.
Free up to a number of visitors
Fine while you are quiet. The cap is usually a monthly one, so a single busy week can spend it, and the queue stops working mid-afternoon rather than at a moment you chose.
Free, with somebody else’s name on your customer’s screen
Reasonable in exchange for free — but check whether it is only a footer, or whether your logo and colours are held back too, because the join page is a page your customer judges you by.
Free for one location, one screen or one user
Workable for a single shop. It becomes a decision the day you open a second one, or the day two people need to serve at once, which is usually the same day you can least afford a migration.
The parts of turnda that are genuinely free, at any volume
Not free as in a tier — free as in there is no meter on them. You pay $44 for the location and none of the following adds a cent to it, however busy you get.
Calling every customer back
Every visitor gets a live link showing their place. It is a web page, not a paid message, so there is no per-person rate to pass on — at ten customers a day or a thousand.
Every screen you pair
Lobby TVs, tablets and monitors are not charged per unit. Pair as many as you like, each on its own board layout.
Everyone on your team
No per-seat pricing. There is no reason for two people to share a login, which is the quiet cost of seat-based billing.
Every visitor
No daily or monthly visitor cap, so a queue cannot stop working because a month was busier than the one you were quoted on.
Telling everyone you are running late
Type one line and it appears on the lobby TV and on every waiting customer’s page at once. Nothing is sent to anybody, so it costs nothing whether five people are waiting or five hundred.
turnda charges $44 per location per month and nothing else. The list above is not an allowance we grant you — it is a description of how the product is built, which is why it cannot quietly become metered later.
The questions people actually ask
So there is no free plan at all?
No. There is a 30-day free trial of the complete product, and then it is paid. We would rather be the boring answer here than the one you discover later.
Do I have to put a card in to try it?
Yes — the 30-day trial takes a card up front. Nothing is charged until the trial ends, and you can stop before then.
What happens when the trial ends?
It becomes $44 per location per month, or $440 a year for the same thing. There is one plan, so there is nothing to choose between and nothing to be upgraded into later.
Are there per-message fees on top?
No. The tracking link that calls your customers back is a web page rather than a paid message, so there is no meter on it at any volume. There is no SMS in the product at all — that is the fee this category is usually built on, and it is the one we removed.
Is there an open-source option I could self-host?
turnda is not open source, so not from us. If self-hosting is genuinely what you want, that is a fair choice and this is not the product for you — the honest trade is that you take on the uptime of the thing your front desk depends on.
If I stop paying, do I lose everything?
Not immediately, and not silently. A location that stops paying goes read-only — the people already waiting are still served and nothing is deleted — and you can export your data. The exact retention windows are set out on our security and privacy pages.
